This week...

Good afternoon!

We have all enjoyed another busy and productive week this week.

In English we have been learning about play scripts, reading them, identifying common features and performing in front of the class.  Next week the children will be writing their own play scripts based on a story.

In maths we have been learning about fractions; particularly fractions on a number line and fractions of amounts.  The children have worked very hard in maths this week to notice the link with division and multiplication!  Next week we are looking at division.  We will continue to endeavour to complete 144 twice a week in all sets, wherever possible J !

We are ready to move on to The Romans in our History lessons next week, having finished The Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages.  In science, we continue looking at forces and magnets.

We enjoyed a very exciting assembly from Mrs Baker about the properties of custard – we hope none of the children went home, filled a bath with custard and tried to walk on it!

This week the children have taken home their ‘Spells and Potions’ booklets.  These were completed on World Book Day where our lessons included; Transfiguration, Charms, Quidditch, History of Magic, Herbology and Astrology.

Astrology lessons - creating our Zodiac Constellations

History of Magic - What would we see in The Mirror of Erised (desire spelled backwards!)

Herbology lessons - thinking of magical properties to describe herbs

Transfiguration - working as a class to solve a cryptic code (a quote from Harry Potter!)
