Changes to the spelling system

Changes to the spelling system
Following changes to the National Curriculum, the way spelling is taught in school is currently being reviewed. Several classes, including 3F, have been chosen to try a new system. This term I will be teaching the children a spelling pattern every Monday which will be learnt and practised daily in school. On Friday the children will write a dictated paragraph containing words learnt during the week. These spellings will not be sent home. At the end of the term I will review both systems with the children to see which has been the greatest help.
In addition the 100 spellings listed below are the words all children should be able to spell by the end of year 4 under the National Curriculum. Please help your child to learn these words if they cannot already spell them. This list will be available on my class blog should you wish for a second copy.
If you wish for any further clarification of the spelling system please do not hesitate to contact me.
